R. Peter Muttart, Q.C.
Founder — Retired

Peter was a founding partner of the firm. He spent 45 years in the practice of law, with an emphasis on business development, corporate structures, commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, franchising, municipal law, wills and estates, and real property. He was BV Rated by Martindale-Hubble recognizing very high legal ability and ethical standards.

He appeared at various times in all levels of courts in Nova Scotia and the Supreme Court of Canada. He also participated in the trial of one of the largest civil wrongful death jury awards in the State of Texas.

Peter retired as a lawyer in 2014 and established a practice as a consulting professional.

Peter’s business experience both as an entrepreneur and as an advisor to entrepreneurs is extensive. He was the leader of a consortium that planned and constructed Town Square Mall in Kentville. He was a corporate partner in the creation and development of MacDougall Heights Subdivision, Kentville. He was intricately involved in boot strapping and consulting with corporate start-ups including food franchise, clothing store, business centre and fitness centre.

He is presently serving a second term as the Mayor of the Municipality of the County of Kings.
