Kim MacEwan is a 1999 graduate of Dalhousie University's Schulich School of Law. During law school, Kim worked as a student at a Halifax law firm and with firms in the New Glasgow area following her graduation. She joined muttarts law firm as a title searcher in 2003 before accepting a position later that year with the Family Court in Kentville, where she remained until 2005. She returned to the firm in 2006 as family law paralegal to the Honourable Judge Jean Dewolfe. She has extensive experience in all aspects of family law. Kim later managed the firm's corporate/commercial and estate planning and probate matters.
Kim articled with muttarts law firm in 2015-16 and was called to the Bar in October 2016. Her legal practice includes estate planning (wills, powers of attorney, personal directives and trusts), corporate reorganizations, corporate governance, probate of estates, and family law (especially as it affects corporate and estate planning and marriage contracts). Kim also represents buyers and sellers of businesses and property, and can assist with residential or commercial financing.
Kim lives in New Minas with her three children, who keep her very active. Kim is a volleyball coach and is often seen at her children's dance competitions and hockey games.
